Top 10 cars of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show

As usual, there was no shortage of high-profile debuts at the Detroit show, ranging from concepts so bold that they border on the absurd to production vehicles that attract many enthusiasts. Here is a list of the 10 best cars presented at the North American International Exhibition.

10. Acura NSX concept

The Acura NSX car concept demonstrated that the Honda luxury brand continues to develop its new car. While the shell remained mostly unchanged, the interior of the Japanese supercar has undergone changes. According to the company, the focus will be on simplicity, good visibility, and style to enhance driving experience.

Despite the fact that there is no information about the preparation of the model for production, it should be noted that Acura is at least one step closer to the release of the NSX model.

9. Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept

The Volkswagen CrossBlue concept is next on our list. It is a plug-in diesel hybrid that has a power of 305 hp produced by electric motors and an internal combustion engine. All three units can achieve an impressive 700 Nm of torque with a 6-speed DSG transmission.

8. Honda Fit Urban SUV Concept

Entering the SUV segment, Honda unveiled the Fit urban SUV concept at this year's Detroit Auto Show. For the most part, this concept doesn't really seem that far from production, except for the unique LED headlights and door handles.

These headlights look no worse than the Jewel Eye headlights of the Acura NSX concept, the MDX and RLX prototypes, but they are unlikely to go into production.

7. Toyota Furia Concept

At its debut, the Furia concept, which is supposed to be the next Corolla model, has a lower, longer and wider stance than the current compact sedan.

While features such as carbon fiber accents and 19-inch wheels are unlikely to get a chance to appear in the production model, a more sustainable position is part of Toyota's plans to build a sporty compact sedan. Toyota says the average age of Corolla buyers is falling, and its sporty trim is currently a major aspect of maintaining current sales levels.

6. 2014 Cadillac ELR

The Chevrolet Volt, "dressed up" in Cadillac's "clothes," finally debuted with more power than its "big brother" Chevrolet. The car presented at the exhibition had a power of 207 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The ELR also offers 480 km of range and the same 1.4-liter gasoline engine as on the Volt model.

Sure enough, the car is loaded with equipment such as the Cadillac CUE infotainment system, along with wood, leather, and carbon fiber in the cabin.

Finally, the ELR received a rigid suspension and steering to deliver a sporty driving experience to set it apart from other Chevrolet products.

5. 2014 Audi RS7

The 2014 Audi RS7 accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 3.9 seconds with 750 Nm of torque available at 1,750 rpm. The body style includes an excessive number of carbon fiber elements, but in this case they are designed to enhance the aggressive look of the car. The interior matches the exterior, receiving a carbon fiber finish.

The 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine delivers high power with an average fuel consumption of 9.8 liters per 100 km, mainly due to the cylinder deactivation system.

4. 2014 Infiniti Q50

Infiniti has unveiled the future of its brand, the Q50 sedan for the 2014 model year. The car will be sold with both a 3.7-liter V6 engine and a hybrid transmission borrowed from the M35h.

The hybrid will offer a power output of 354 hp. This is especially impressive when you consider that the M35h was also named the fastest hybrid in the world in 2012.

3. 2014 Lexus IS

This is probably the most radical production car in terms of styling of all that were presented in Detroit this year. The 2014 Lexus IS has the distinctive signature of the manufacturer in the form of a distinctive grille style and an eccentric sporty style.

The new sports sedan will be available in IS 250 and IS 350 versions with 2.5 and 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engines, respectively. It is also known that Lexus has decided to abandon its 6-speed transmission.

2. Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept

In addition to demonstrating future Hyundai luxury sedans, the Genesis and Equus, the Korean automaker also presented the HCD-14 Genesis concept. Performance specifications haven't been discussed yet, but under the hood is the same 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine found on the Genesis R-Spec sedan, which boasts 429 hp and 509 Nm of torque.

But this is unlikely to be the highlight of this concept due to the lack of aggression and modern design.

1. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Of course, the Corvette Stingray tops the list of this exhibition. This is the fastest production version of the Corvette in the brand's history. It is equipped with a brand new 6.2-liter V8 LT1 engine with 450 hp and 610 Nm of torque. Chevrolet also says the car has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Audi R8 and Porsche 911.

Finally, the 7-speed manual transmission promises high performance, while the premium interior can offer fans of the Corvette model comfortable and comfortable seats. Follow slin-go.ru for a curated list of safe melbet links.
