Irrigation Monitoring & Control

We offer systems for unattended monitoring and control of diversions, canals, and laterals. Our systems monitor water distribution by measuring water level or flow. We can help you manage water distribution by controlling gates, pumps, and other devices based on time of day, conditions, or measured parameters. Stations can call district personnel to report changing conditions via cellphones or pagers. Key components of our systems are dataloggers, sensors, and communications devices, customized for every site.

We can help you to publish your systems data to the Internet.  This will allow water users to see system status form home or from any PC that is able to see the web.

Sensors

Because not every site is the same, our dataloggers can measure multiple types of sensors. Whether measuring water level in a stilling well with a shaft encoder or on a river with a bubbler, we can help you match accuracy and reliability requirements to your budget. Multiple channel types enable our dataloggers to read nearly every commercially available sensor, allow stations to be customized for each installation, and let you take advantage of sensors that you may already own. For new installations, we offer a variety of water level sensors that feature low drift and high reliability.  We can also measure flow in channels and culverts using the Area Velocity method, no flume required.

Software

We provide software to simplify the entire monitoring and control process, from programming to data retrieval, data display, and data analysis. Our software automates data collection from one or many monitoring stations. Real-time or historical data can be viewed easily, or exported as excel or comma separated files for further processing by spreadsheets, databases, or analysis programs. Robust error-checking ensures your data arrives uncorrupted. We can even help you post your data to the Internet for all interested parties to view.

There are many ways to take advantage of a monitoring system.  The time savings can be of great benefit to ditch riders and water masters.  It also makes the entire water delivery system more efficient.

Getting Your Data

We offer multiple ways to collect your data for viewing and analysis.

- Radio Telemetry (licensed or spread spectrum)
- Cellular or Land Line Phone
- Satellite

Our systems can be completely automated.  Imagine having the ability to sit in an office and view your entire water delivery system on a computer screen.  Each diversion or delivery point can be listed showing current flow, gate position, water level, etc.

You can even have the ability to set a desired flow rate on the computer screen for any given site and the system will automatically adjust gates and valves to match the desired flow rate.  This creates a significant time reduction for water delivery adjustments.
