Sentek Soil Monitoring Systems

Sentek's products are used in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, wastewater management, research, mining and environmental industries around the world.

In the year 2000, Sentek began to expand its product range from its original, continuous soil moisture monitoring solution EnviroSCAN®, to the release of the portable Diviner 2000®. From the international success Diviner 2000® experienced, Sentek further released two new probes in the matter of 14 months, namely the EnviroSMART™ and EasyAG®. The release of the EnviroSMART™ and EasyAG® saw Sentek's company focus shift to an open integration platform. The latest product release saw the evolution of TriSCAN®, a revolutionary sensor with the capability to measure salinity, fertiliser and soil moisture in one sensor. TriSCAN®, coupled with Sentek's software, IrriMAX®, is the most comprehensive irrigation and fertigation management tool ever developed by Sentek.

EnviroSMART - Soil Water Monitoring Probe

envirosmart.jpgSentek's EnviroSMART probe a multi-depth soil water monitoring probe. The EnviroSMART difference is the ability to connect the soil monitoring probe to a wide range of technologies, such as data loggers, radios, weather stations and irrigation controllers. In addition, EnviroSMART probes can connect to a range of wireless and web-enabled solutions including GSM, GPRS, CDMA, 1X and satellite communication. The EnviroSMART sensor technology utilises Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) to measure soil water.

  • Multiple sensors with flexible depth placement (10 cm increments)
  • Can monitor from shallow depths (0 cm - 10 cm) to deep installations (up to 30 metres)
  • Length of EnviroSMART probe can be customised to suit a wide range of applications
  • Up to 16 sensors per probe
  • In-built probe orientation and depth settings to increas sensor repeatability
  • A range of connectivity for integration is available including:
SDI-12, Voltage Output, Current Outputm RS-485 (Modbus) and RS-232 (Modbus)

EasyAG - Soil Water Monitoring

easyag.jpgThe EasyAG probe is an easy to install, slim-line soil water measurement probe. Available in two sizes, the EasyAG 30 is designed to monitor the soil profile to a depth of 30cm (12 inches) whilst the EasyAG 50 is designed to monitor to a depth of 50cm (20 inches). The EasyAG probe can be used in conjunction with a Sentek EnviroSCAN logger as a stand alone system, or connected to a range of other technologies including data loggers, radios, weather stations and irrigation controllers. The EasyAG sensor technology utilizes Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) to measure soil water.

The EasyAG Difference

Installation:
A standard soil auger is used in conjunction with Sentek designed tools to enable a quick, simple and precise installation. The installation technique enables EasyAG to be installed across a wide variety of soil types with ease and accuracy making it an ideal monitoring tool for vegetables and rotation crops.

EasyAG Probe:

  • Multiple sensors at fixed depths
  • EasyAG 30 – sensors located at 10cm, 20cm and 30cm
  • EasyAG 50 – sensors located at 10cm, 20cm, 30cm, 40cm and 50cm
  • In-built probe orientation and depth settings to increase sensor repeatability

Where can EasyAG be used?

  • Ideal for shallow rooted crops such as vegetables, nurseries, pastures and young perennial crops
  • Monitoring the effects of tillage management and assessing ideal water content for planting of non irrigated crops
  • Assessing water movement in nutrient studies
  • Wastewater irrigation in turf and pastures

Diviner 2000

Diviner 2000 is a portable and robust device measuring soil water over multiple depths (at 10 cm intervals) in the profile. Diviner 2000 consists of a probe and hand-held data logging display unit allowing the user to make onsite management decisions at up to 99 sites. The Diviner 2000 probe length is available in 3 sizes, 0.7 metre, 1.0 metre and 1.6 metres making it ideal for a wide range of applications. The sensor technology of Diviner 2000 utilizes Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) to measure soil water throughout the profile.
